Springfield's Windy Knoll Golf Club Unveils First Hovercraft Golf Cart

Springfield's Windy Knoll Golf Club will unveil on Saturday the world's first hovercraft golf cart. The golf club will become the first in the country to make the hovercraft available for public use.

The Neoteric Golf Hovercraft's 65 Horsepower German engine will soon be carting golfers and their bags through water hazards and sand traps at the Windy Knoll Golf Club. It looks like a water ride at an amusement park attached to a wind fan. It travels nine inches off the ground and its fast. Fifty five miles per hour at top speed.

Beavercreek City Council Tables Discussion About RTA Bus Stops

Monday evening at Beavercreek's City Council meeting, an attorney for the city advised that failure to comply with a recent federal discrimination order could result in the loss of federal funding for highway construction projects.  Wayne Baker reports

In late June, the Federal Highway Administration ruled the city violated Title VI of the 1964 Civil Rights act by refusing two install three bus stops near the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

Attorney Adam Levin explained to council members Monday that the city could fight the ruling but it would be costly

Beavercreek Council to Discuss Civil Rights Issue


Tonight, the Beavercreek  City Council will hear from its attorney regarding the recent finding by the Federal Highway Administration, alleging that the city violated the 1964 Civil Rights Act.

Two years ago, the Dayton RTA wanted to add bus stops on Pentagon Boulevard near the Mall at Fairfield Commons and the newly constructed Soin Medical Center. That request was unanimously denied by Beavercreek's City Council.

Hardaway Resigns as President of Wilberforce University

Wilberforce University President Patricia Hardaway is stepping down from her post at the end of this year. Hardaway informed the university's Board of Trustees that she will will resign effectively on December 31.

Hardaway became the 19th President of Wilberforce and only the second woman to hold the job. She is also a  Wilberforce alumna, who had worked at various positions at the university.

Hardaway was appointed after Floyd Flake resigned whose tenure had been controversial at the university. But her time as president has also had problems.
