Mark Memmott

Mark Memmott is one of the hosts of NPR's "The Two-Way" news blog.

"The Two-Way," which Memmott helped to launched when he came to NPR in 2009, focuses on breaking news, analysis, and the most compelling stories being reported by NPR News and other news media.

Before joining NPR, Memmott worked for nearly 25 years as a reporter and editor at USA Today. He focused on a range of coverage from politics, foreign affairs, economics, and the media. He's reported from places across the Unites States and the world, including half a dozen trips to Afghanistan in 2002-2003.

During his time at USA Today, Memmott, helped launch and lead three USAToday.com news blogs: "On Deadline," "The Oval" and "On Politics," the site's 2008 presidential campaign blog.

Palin Emails Released; Now The Rush Is On To Read And Post Them

Hang On, Some Relief From Heat Is Coming

"As promised earlier this week, a cold front will bring some heat relief to much of the Midwest and Northeast as we end the week and enter the weekend," The Weather Channel says.

But, it also cautions that "you may have to pay a price, as this same front will hang around these regions, instigating a persistent 'stormy zone.' "

Yes You Were Wielding A Weasel, Cops Tell Suspect

Heard the one about the guy who assaulted his ex-girlfriend's boyfriend while wielding what he insisted was a marten — NOT a weasel?

It's become a hot story across the nation because the victim supposedly asked "why are you carrying a weasel?" To which the suspect replied, "it's not a weasel, it's a marten," and then allegedly punched the guy in the nose (with his hand, not the weasel ... err, mink).

M.F. Husain, The 'Picasso Of India,' Died In Exile

That question is one sign of the self-reflection underway in India after word of artist M.F. Husain's death Thursday in London.
