Juliet Fromholt has been listening to WYSO for as long as she can remember.  She began volunteering at the station while also serving as Program Director and General Manager at WWSU, the student station at her
alma mater, Wright State University.  Juliet does many things at WYSO including overseeing the station's web and social media presence, producing news features, and hosting two music programs.  In her spare time, Juliet serves as music editor DaytonMostMetro.com and is proud to serve as a board member for the Antioch Writers' Workshop and Cityfolk.

ReInvention Stories: Philipe Payne

Today on ReInvention Stories, we return to Trotwood to meet Philipe Payne. He had a successful career with Appleton Paper Company until he and most of his fellow workers were laid off two years ago. Now he's back in school training for a new career and pursuing a passion for making art.

Major funding for the second season of ReInvention Stories comes from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation with support from Wright State University CELIA fund, the Yellow Springs Community Foundation and Antioch College.

Nathan Veshecco on the Evolution of Blushing Tree

Songwriter Nathan Veshecco designed his new project, Blushing Tree, around the idea of a rotating lineup that would allow him to play solo or with other musicians while branching out from being a strictly acoustic performer. Veshecco visited the WYSO studios to perform live and spoke about the origins of Blushing Tree and how the project has changed his songwriting.

Parlour Tricks Release Hotdoggin'

After some changes in the rhythm section, Parlour Tricks has been spending time getting its new lineup solidified as well as putting the finishing touches on a new EP, Hotdoggin'.  Chris Wright returned to the WYSO studios to talk about the evolution of Parlour Tricks and prepping the EP for release.

Parlour Tricks will celebrate the release of Hotdoggin' on April 19th at Blind Bob's in downtown Dayton.  They'll be joined onstage by Lab Partners (also releasing an album that night) and Good English.

Ohio Brass & Electric Live on Kaleidoscope

Ohio Brass & Electric

Combining a classic rock and roll sensibility with a danceable horn section, the 10 members of Ohio Brass & Electric brought their full sound into the WYSO studios for a live set on Kaleidoscope.  In between songs, the band spoke with host Juliet Fromholt about its formation, the logistics of being a large band and how they choose what songs to perform

Ohio Brass & Electric will perform at Peach's Grill in Yellow Springs on Saturday, April 19th.

The 1984 Draft Release Bo Jackson Up the Middle EP

The 1984 Draft

With a November 2013 release and an appearance in an NFL Films' documentary under their collective belt, the members of the 1984 Draft are keeping the momentum going with the release of their newest EP, Bo Jackson Up the Middle.  The band visited the WYSO studios for a lie performance on Kaleidoscope and talked with host Juliet Fromholt.

The 1984 Draft will celebrate the release of Bo Jackson Up the Middle on April 19th at Canal Public House.
