Today is Urban Nights in the Downtown Dayton/Oregon Arts District/Wright-Dunbar Business Village from 5-10 p.m. Urban Nights is a free event that showcases downtown's dining, nightlife, art, music, retail, urban living options and more and has been described as a huge, all-inclusive street party and open house for downtown, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Tonight is First Friday in downtown Dayton and the United Way will host the Live United Block Party in the Oregon District from 4 to 7 p.m. 19 agencies of the organization will set up booths along Fifth Street, If you visit more than 10 of the booths then you will be entered into a raffle to win several prizes, including a diamond tennis bracelet and a pair of tickets to a Cincinnati Bengals football game. Look for Heater, the Dayton Dragons' mascot, wearing a Live United T-shirt during the block party.

RiverScape MetroPark will host the final concert in this year's series, with Stranger performing from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The park's concession stand will be open and beer will be sold from 5 to 7 p.m. MetroParks will demonstrate various kayaking skills on the river and free kayak rentals will be available.
