This whole weekend is the Muse Machine’s musical The Wizard of OZ.This show has all star kids all over the region with true professional Broadway coaches . They’re doing a superb show at the Victoria.

And at the Schuster there are Three Phantoms in Concert. These guys have all been leading tenors in that famous show and they will be doing all kind of Broadway tunes.  Check it out daytonphilharmonic.org

Today is 2012’s First Friday in Downtown Dayton. Lots of exhibit openings at the galleries, art demonstrations, live music and jazz and ice skating. As you are wandering around you will be hearing REV. COOL'S AROUND THE FRINGE since lots of places have dialed their radio to 91.3 WYSO.

I don’t think this will be a White Christmas….

But you can go ice skating. Head to downtown Dayton and the rink is in Riverscape. They’ve got hot chocolate, and outdoor fireplaces and you can check out the Miami River. Bring along your family, and friends to ice skate
the MetroParks Rink. Admission is $5 and includes the use of ice skates.

Well, there are many things going on this weekend….

Today at 4 & 8 at Stivers School for the Arts is a modern version of the holiday favorite, The Nutcracker and it is the Urban Nutcracker. A contemporary dance takes place in an urban environment. There is all kind of dancing, including , samba,, hip hop, Chicago stepping, and more. The SMAG Dance Collective take contemporary dance and fuse it with various ethnic and social forms of dance.

Tonight , at 7:00pm at UD, in the theater that is in their student union the DCDC2 will present its annual festival of dance, decorations, candy, and elves. They bring in the season’s rhythms and good cheer.

And at 8:00 tonight The Oral Funk Poetry Productions will be doing “The Signature: A Poetic Medley Show.” This is at De’Lish Café, 139 N. Main St, downtown Dayton. The event will feature free hors d’oeuvres, drink specials and live entertainment.
