For the past month on Twitter, using the hashtag npredchat, we've already been hearing from our radio audience and from our digital audience.
The Miami Valley Music Men features 4 quartets and over 35 local men who gather regularly to sing together in traditional barbershop harmonies. Two of the quartets, Treblemakers and The Daytones, visited the WYSO studios to share some tunes and talk about their upcoming performance: Movie Night, which will feature music performed by the quartets and the larger choral-style group.
The Miami Valley Music Men will perform their annual concert on Saturday, October 13th at the Randy Chisholm Memorial Auditorium on Smithville Road in Dayton.

Alex Karras, who was a star defensive lineman for the Detroit Lions in the 1960s and went on to gain other fame for his acting in Hollywood's Blazing Saddles and TV's Webster, has died, according to multiple reports.
Hailing from Montana, songwriter David Boone's project Dawns began with a batch of songs sent to a UK producer Danton Supple. This resulted in Boone traveling to the UK to work with Supple and a host of musicians including a string arranger. Boone travels with a six-piece band but also performs acoustic. He visited the WYSO studios for an acoustic performance and spoke about the experience of working on the various incarnations of the Dawns project.
Boone will perform at Ghostlight Coffee on October 9th.

Joe Donnelly is counting on the auto industry bailout to help him out.
Donnelly, a third-term Democratic representative, is running for U.S. Senate in Indiana, which remains heavily dependent on the auto and RV industry. His opponent, GOP state Treasurer Richard Mourdock, not only opposed the bailout of Chrysler, but sued to block it.
Iris DeMent possesses one of the great voices in contemporary popular music: powerfully, ringingly clear, capable of both heartbreaking fragility and blow-your-ears-back power. Had she been making country albums in the '70s and '80s and had more commercial ambition, she'd probably now be considered right up there with Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette.
