Governor Considers Cleveland-Area Race Track Move

The governor is considering a deal that would relocate a suburban Cleveland horse racing track to another area of
northeast Ohio.

According to The Akron Beacon Journal, a spokesman for Gov. John Kasich says the administration is looking at a proposal to move the track to Akron.

Ohio Has 5,300 Areas at Risk of Rockslides

Ohio Department of Transportation officials say the state has 5,300 hillside areas at risk of sending rocks onto nearby highways and spends $16 million a year preventing or cleaning up slides.

A department spokesman tells The Columbus Dispatch all 88 counties have such areas. Crews are working in eight counties to stabilize hillsides or clean up after falls, and 37 summer projects are planned.

State engineer Jim Graham says hillsides were made steeper for roadways along Ohio rivers. Rock cracks fill with rainwater that freezes and melts, making it vulnerable.

Ohio's First Liquefied Natural Gas Station to Open

Clean energy advocates are announcing the opening of the state's first liquefied natural gas fueling station, aimed at long-distance truck travel.

Clean Fuels Ohio says the station is part of a planned network of such stations along U.S. interstates.

The Clean Energy LNG Truck Fueling Station will open April 4 in Seville in northeast Ohio near Interstate 76.

The station is one of four being opened in Ohio by Seal Beach, Calif.-based Clean Energy. It will be available for all trucks using liquefied natural gas.
