MEVA expanding at Springfield's Airpark Ohio


The City of Springfield is planning to sell six acres of land to the German-based company MEVA  Formwork Systems for approximately $148,000. The company plans to expand its U.S. operations at its current Clark County Airpark Ohio location, and the expansion will create 15 new jobs in the next three years.

Springfield and MEVA have reached an incentive agreement which states the company will retain 35 jobs and create 15 new ones over the next three years in exchange for approximately $9,500.  City officials say the new jobs will pay nearly $42,000 per year.

Poor Will's Almanack for the first week of Early Fall.

The movement of the sun appears to accelerate as equinox approaches, changes in the landscape speeding toward autumn. Each change is the tip of other changes.

When asters bloom in the waysides and bur marigolds flower in the swamps, then farmers are cutting corn for silage.

When zigzag goldenrod blossoms in the woods, then the rose of Sharon shrubs will drop most of their flowers and the great decline of summer wildflowers begins in the fields.

Romney, Biden To Campaign in Ohio This Week

Republican Mitt Romney is coming back to Ohio today. He plans to meet with factory workers this afternoon in northern Ohio at a plant in Mansfield. Romney has been mixing in campaign stops with debate practice sessions over the last week.

Ohio Republican Sen. Rob Portman is helping the GOP nominee sharpen his debate skills. Portman has been playing the role of President Barack Obama in the mock debates.
