Young House in Wilberforce, Ohio was named a national <em>landmark</em>. Today, March 25th, 2013, it received an even higher honor; The home now stands as a national monument.&nbsp;</p><p>In a closed ceremony, President Barack Obama used executive authority to designate five new national monuments. Using powers given to him under the Antiquities Act of 1906, the President issued protections for 5 "historic or ecologically significant sites around the country" - including the Col. The museum opened its doors in 1988. He was saddened to see it close in August of 2011. For awhile the future of it was uncertain, but it re-opened recently thanks in part to funding from the state.<br><br>It did not make Fleming happy to see the museum close because of mold problems.
