A local organization in Clark County helps local men become better fathers. The organization has just received a new grant that will help the group called Urban Light Ministries serve more people.</p><p>The Ohio Commission on Fatherhood awarded Urban Light&nbsp; Ministries a four-year, $420,000 grant to partner with the Ohio Job &amp; Family Services to offer fatherhood programs in Clark, Montgomery and Greene Counties.</p><p>Only six awards were given to agencies around the state.</p> Tue, 03 Sep 2013 17:44:04 +0000 Wayne Baker 38668 at http://wyso.org Ohio To See Unemployment Compensation Change http://wyso.org/post/ohio-see-unemployment-compensation-change <p>The state's declining unemployment rate will soon trigger a decrease in the amount of federal unemployment compensation available to Ohioans.</p><p>The number of weeks of unemployment compensation available depends on the state's unemployment rate, which averaged less than 7 percent in September, October and November. That means the maximum amount of compensation available, including state unemployment compensation, will drop from 63 weeks to 54 weeks on Jan. 12</p> Thu, 03 Jan 2013 21:04:00 +0000 Associated Press 27209 at http://wyso.org Ohio's Jobless Rate Inches Downward Again http://wyso.org/post/ohios-jobless-rate-inches-downward-again <p>Ohio's unemployment rate is continuing to inch downward.</p><p>The Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services said Friday that the state's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 6.8 percent.
