2012 Among Hottest Years On Record In Ohio Cities

It turns out 2012 was one of the hottest on record in several Ohio cities.

Thanks to an unusually warm spring followed by a hot summer, Cleveland and Columbus both had their highest average annual temperatures this past year. Both cities broke records set in 1998.

Dayton and Cincinnati fell short of breaking their records. But it was still among the five hottest years those cities have posted.

State climatologist Jeffrey Rogers says more and more evidence points to climate change for the spiking temperatures and he says warmer temperatures in Ohio mean more rain

Energy Efficiency Advocates Rally In Columbus

Energy efficiency advocates hold a rally in Columbus today (Monday). They want to keep pressure on legislators to maintain requirements for utilities to cut the amount of electricity that customers consume and increase their use of alternative energy sources. Romney, Biden To Campaign in Ohio This Week

Republican Mitt Romney is coming back to Ohio today. He plans to meet with factory workers this afternoon in northern Ohio at a plant in Mansfield. Romney has been mixing in campaign stops with debate practice sessions over the last week.

Ohio Republican Sen. Rob Portman is helping the GOP nominee sharpen his debate skills. Portman has been playing the role of President Barack Obama in the mock debates.

Space Shuttle Trainer Arrives In Dayton

Dayton may have been passed over to receive a space shuttle but the National Museum of the United States Air Force now has the next best thing.

For more than 30 years Crew Compartment Trainer One was used to teach astronauts how to fly orbiters and operate equipment in space.

Astronaut Greg Johnson was on hand Wednesday as CCT-1 arrived on the NASA Super Guppy aircraft. Johnson says he spent almost more time in the trainer than in actual space.
