What is Community Voices?

Community Voices is all about getting local voices on the air. We help local people record essays, poems and commentaries. We work with public school teachers who want to bring radio into their classrooms. We collect oral histories. In the spring of 2011 we launched a training program to teach listeners how to produce radio stories.

The Training

The 2016 WYSO Community Voices Training Course will happen in two parts this year. Part One: meets for six full-day seminars from January 16 to June 18, 2016.

Part Two: three months of story support and collaborative editing after the end of Part One to enable you to continue to produce radio stories for WYSO

Applications are currently closed for the 2016 Community Voices Training.  Please check back to this page for information on future training opportunities.
