Event Description

tai chi

Join Nelson Hulce each Thursday night at 7:00 for an hour of introduction and practice of the Long Yang form of Tai Chi Chuan , as developed by Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming. In this class we will explore together the form and basic principles of this style of Tai Chi Chuan, also known as “moving meditation.” It enhances muscle coordination and balance through slow and focused movement. This class is inclusive and safe for those of all ages (18 and over) and levels of physical ability. Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing and flat shoes. Suggested donation of $5.00 per person, per class. This class will meet weekly. Nelson Hulce has been a student of the martial arts since 1966, specializing in the art of Aikido for 34 years. He was founder and Sensei of the Dayton Aikido Club, (1989-1998). In recent years he has turned his focus to the practice of Tai Chi. For a look at Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming’s style and an idea of the forms for this ongoing class, Google his books and teachings. Here is a video to give you some insight. http://youtu.be/Ml02H3PCAAM
