Join WYSO staff and volunteers for an afternoon of family fun on the air and in person at the new WYSO studios. We'll have food, facepainting, studio tours, and more. You can even record a greeting in one of WYSO's studios.
It's Sunday, June 24th, 1 - 5pm at the new WYSO Studios, 150 East South College St. in Yellow Springs.
WYSO will be off the air for most of the day on Saturday, May 12th.
Beginning sometime in the morning, WYSO will go off the air while a crew climbs our broadcast tower to finish the upgrading of our broadcast equipment, completing work begun last November.
We expect to be off the air for most of the day, but you will be able to stream WYSO here on our website and on your mobile device - on the iPhone it's the Public Radio Player and on Android, the NPR News app.
When this work is finished, we will be ready to increase our power output to 50,000 Watts.
Yesterday on Excursions we inadvertently aired some offensive language in a song we played. We do have a music screening process in place for just this reason, but this slipped through. We really regret it.
It was offensive to us and to some listeners as well. It’s absolutely not our policy to air offensive language. And we will REDOUBLE our screening efforts to prevent this from happening again. Thanks.
